LED screens, also refered to as Video Walls, offer a versatile solution for theater productions, allowing backdrops and virtual sets to be altered with the push of a button using static or full-motion graphics.
Case Study
Ad:Vantage digital Ltd provided a 6m wide by 5.5m high (33 sqm) LED video screen for the production of Amadeus at the Cheltenham Bacon Theater.
The expansive 33 sqm screen served as a central backdrop, seamlessly integrated into the stage design with draped curtains.
While some theatres have rigging suitable for flying LED video screens, on this occasion a temporary truss goal post was installed to support the screen, providing a completely independent screen and structure.
Our high-quality 'black face' LED product was used to provide high contrast and enhanced blacks, enabling the screen to disappear into the background without stage lighting washing out or affecting the screen's performance.
Screen content was controlled from the contol booth, front of house (FOH) by the production team at Wild Edric Media. With over 2.1 million pixels, a fiber solution was used to allow full control of screen content, brightness and calibration from FOH with a single fiber cable.

A significant part of the production utilised both static and motion graphics to create breathtaking backdrops. These virtual sets enhanced the existing stage set and props, enabling the audience to be seamlessly transported to various locations and settings.
LED video technology offers a powerful and efficient solution for theater productions.
